Meet our Team: Abdur Rehman
Get to know one of the newest members of our team -- Abdur Rehman. He recently joined Zenitel as our new Digital Marketing Specialist.

What is your background?
I am a business major from Pakistan with a diverse set of employment experiences. After completing my bachelor’s in business administration from Pakistan, I worked at the graduate trainee position in one of the largest banks in Pakistan for 3 years. That role provided me with hands-on experience for business development, sales, and managing marketing campaigns. That role required me to learn and apply statistics and Analytic techniques for efficient strategic decisions. To further enhance my expertise in strategic techniques, I then received my master’s in business administration – strategic management from the University of Stavanger, Norway.
How did you get into your current role?
I have developed a knack for analytics and crunching numbers into meaningful reports. With my previous work experience and expanding interest in marketing research and analytics, I began to obtain certifications in different analytical platforms. To be efficient in my role I also developed my design skills to design and launch marketing campaigns on various social media platforms.
Why is it important for a company to have a social media strategy?
From a marketing perspective, adopting and increasing digital marketing presence for Zenitel is very important because of the paradigm shift from traditional to digital marketing. Hence it is crucial for a marketing specialist to target the right audience with the optimal message through digital and social media. Social media offers the opportunity to receive higher value in return for paid promotions.
What are some of your social media strategies do you bring to Zenitel?
Having a consistent brand representation and market presence are critical social media strategies. In addition, ongoing research regarding the consumers interests and shifts in priorities is essential to stay ahead of the game in a competitive environment. Finally representing the strong business relationships over social media platforms is important as a B2B industry to maintain existing customers and to attract additional market. My skill set is well aligned with all of these requirements given my interest in web-based representation and innovation and building and maintaining social media connections. Finally my recent training has equipped me well with the research and analytical strategies that target customers.
What career advice can you offer?
Never stop striving to learn more. Do what you like and have passion for. Embrace yourself for the failures, but always learn from them. Be open to feedbacks or criticisms, and never feel embarrassed to improve yourself.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I have enjoyed playing badminton since my childhood, and after the relief of the pandemic, now I often participate in different tournaments around Norway. Also, I believe that every small act of kindness can contribute to making our community a better place to live in. So I devote my time to volunteer work in Red Cross and other NGOs. I feel proud to give back as much as I can to the community. I am also a social person who likes to expand my social circle by meeting new people and playing board games with new friends in different social gatherings. I greatly enjoy cooking and experimenting with new culinary tastes as well.
