Zenitel and telent collaborate to deliver a multi - sensory experience at Patchwork Farm
Chailey Heritage Foundation’s Patchwork Farm recently integrated a new interactive sound system, which was installed by telent and built upon PA products donated from both Zenitel and DNH.
Chailey Heritage Foundation’s Patchwork Farm is a therapeutic care farm dedicated to young people with complex disabilities. Specially designed to allow hands-on experience with different animals, including horses, ducks, goats and more, all the paddocks are fully accessible, with wheelchair-friendly walkways, a raised viewing platform, and a covered Outdoor Learning Centre.
The farm recently integrated a new interactive sound system, which was installed by Telent and built upon PA products donated from both Zenitel and DNH. The collaboration was a natural fit, leveraging both telent’s and Zenitel’s expertise in audio solutions to enhance the multisensory experience at Patchwork Farm.
The new system allows users to access animal sounds with a simple click of a button and enables centralised addressing of the farm, enriching the therapeutic environment. By stimulating senses such as touch, vision, and sound, the multi-sensory experience aids in social, emotional, and intellectual development, while ensuring minimal disturbance to the farm's resident animals.
At the heart of the system is Zenitel's VIPEDIA and V2000 amplifier, complemented by DNH's all-weather projector loudspeakers. Telent seamlessly integrated the components to ensure optimal performance and durability. The result is a robust public address system that delivers clear, high-quality audio across the farm's expansive grounds.
Since its implementation in early 2024, the system has significantly enriched the farm's offerings, providing therapy, relaxation, learning, and fun for visitors of all abilities. The collaborative effort between Zenitel, telent, and Patchwork Farm continues, with ongoing support aimed at maintaining the system's functionality and exploring further enhancements to the site.
“The Zenitel and Telent team were committed, dependable and willing to help both during and after project completion, which was greatly appreciated,” says Lesley Barcock, Farm Manager at Chailey Heritage Foundation. “The speaker system has added another sensory dimension to the farm, allowing us to build on current educational sessions that support learning within the school. It provides a fun and sensory gateway for learning and is proving to be very popular!’”
As Patchwork Farm continues to evolve and grow, the commitment to enhancing the visitor experience remains steadfast. Through ongoing collaboration, Zenitel and telent are proud to contribute to the farm's mission of providing inclusive and enriching experiences for all.
