Zenitel – Part of Canada’s naval future

The Canadian government has launched a multibillion-dollar initiative to rebuild its fleet of Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard vessels and breathe new life into the country's shipbuilding industry - and Zenitel will be onboard.

The Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard are building both non-combat and combat vessels as part of this effort. Seaspan Shipyards will deliver the non-combat vessels, while Irvin Shipbuilding will deliver the combat ships. Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) has also called for a number of smaller vessels from several other yards throughout Canada.

Vingtor-Stentofon equipment onboard

Zenitel is proud to be a part of this project via Thales Canada, who has delivered equipment to the three Offshore Fisheries Science Vessels (OFSV).

The following equipment has been delivered:

EXIGO – This IP PA is certified for the most stringent safety standards for General Alarm and Voice Evacuation purposes. EXIGO leverages over 10 years of experience in critical communication over IP. EXIGO IP PA gives you a system that is flexible, scalable and programmable.

ACM telephone system – The Vingtor-Stentofon ACM system unites and enhances a vessel’s safety systems by providing outstanding onboard communication.

IPTV – Our IPTV system with its comprehensive functionality in a highly efficient setup is ideal for marine vessels. Based on advanced technology, the system is easy to set up and configure and provides customized interactive solutions in addition to traditional TV channels. The IPTV technology enables broadcasts television via IP networks with HD video and multi-channel audio.

VSP – The VSP system is independent of the installation's power supply and fulfils the demands for emergency communication between vital positions. The system has a versatile range of light but robust and corrosion-resistant stations for all environments.

VSS - The Vingtor-Stentofon Sound Reception (VSS) system is a navigation aid system required on ships with enclosed bridges. It enables the officer in charge of the navigational watch to hear sound signals and determine their direction. The system conforms to the SOLAS regulation HSC Code, ISO 1459 and DNV 2012 rules.
