Zenitel to Make Waves & Make a Difference at the Lewes to Newhaven Raft Race

Intrepid Zenitel Lewes team members will be taking part in the Lewes to Newhaven Raft Race to raise money for RNID.

Zenitel raft race Lewes

To help raise money for a great cause, brave staff from Zenitel Lewes will be taking part in the Lewes to Newhaven Raft Race on Sunday 27th July 2025. The team are currently in the process of building a raft as they prepare to race more than 30 other teams for the crown, whilst raising funds for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID).

The race will start at Malling Recreational Ground in Lewes, following the River Ouse to finish at Newhaven’s swing bridge. The team hope their Norwegian boating heritage will help secure the win, swapping audio waves for water waves for one day only. To make the race even more exciting, various industry competitors will also be taking part. Whatever the result, Zenitel Lewes has promised “organised mayhem” and a fun-filled afternoon for spectators. Their participation is also a brilliant opportunity to raise a huge amount of money for a great cause.

The RNID is a UK-based charity working to help the 18 million people in the country who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. The charity works with communities and partners across health, employment, research, government and more to change people’s lives for the better.

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the Newhaven Raft Race. This year’s theme is ‘50’ and the event will be supporting two local charities: New Haven Lifeboats and Sussex Search and Rescue.

It’s set to be fantastic day out for the whole family, so we encourage as many people as possible to come down and cheer on Zenitel from the side lines!
