The purpose of the PSP-1 is to monitor the presence of either of the two DC power sources and inform visually and audibly if any of the monitored power sources go missing.

The PSP-1 has 3 LED indicators, two yellow and one amber, and one buzzer and two backlighted push buttons for adjusting light level and one dual function button for visual and audible function test of panel and to acknowledge a power fault alarm.

The buzzer audio level is 80 dB ±5 dB at 1 meter and buzzer frequency is 2400 Hz.

The PSP-1 has an embedded power source (super capacitor) used to keep the device alive if both monitored DC powers go missing. This will keep the PSP-1 up and running for at least 30 minutes (typical 45 mins). The embedded power source in PSP-1 needs to be charged at initial power up and at least one of the monitored 24 V DC power sources must be connected for at least 2 minutes for the embedded power source to be fully charged.

Panel is to be installed at a permanently manned location for compliancy with MED regulations.
