The number of orders are increasing, and to the test department in our business unit Maritime & Energy in Horten, we are now looking for more committed and skilled test engineers/test technicians.

In the test department, you will have the opportunity to work broadly and variedly with technically advanced communication systems. Our systems are used on ships and boats, wind turbines and oil and gas installations, and we deliver larger systems to customers all over the world. In collaboration with the project department, the department is responsible for planning, design and configuration, as well as testing and handover to the customer. Our skilled engineers also work closely with other departments to ensure high quality and optimal technical solutions. 

The test team consists of dedicated engineers/technicians of all ages. With us, you will find both new employees and experienced employees with long experience. Your tasks will be:

• Configure, program and test customer-specified systems
• Troubleshooting and correcting any errors before delivery
• Arrange and participate in acceptance test (FAT) before delivery and together with the customer 
• Documentation of the test status of the system deliveries
• Verify technical data and documentation
• Customer support and remote service

We are often asked to carry out verifications on board when replacing larger installations, as well as participation in the start-up of new installations. If you are interested in performing service and like to travel, we make it possible. 

We develop and hold courses both internally and for customers in our systems, and if you have experience as a course instructor, or think it sounds exciting, you will eventually also have the opportunity to do so. The tasks are expanded in line with increasing expertise.

Desired qualifications:

• Technical background and interest, preferably a certificate or bachelor's degree in electronics or electrical subjects
• Relevant experience is an advantage, but we also want to hear from you who are a recent graduate
• Interest in, and preferably knowledge of, telecom/communication systems
• Knowledge of IP networks and swithcer is an advantage

We have English as our working language, and to succeed in this position, you must be able to speak and write Norwegian and English fluently.

About you

You are a trained engineer at bachelor's or master's level in design or mechanics, or can demonstrate solid relevant work experience. You have broad knowledge in design, construction, materials and production processes. You are enthusiastic, curious and interested in the subject. We would just as like to hear from you who come straight from school as from you who have been in working life for a few years.

You are engaged by good solutions, and do not give up until you have arrived at a result that is both of technically good quality and that delivers the necessary result for the project. You are a highly skilled 3D designer, but are comfortable in a workshop and are happy to build a prototype if that is the best way to solve the problem in question.

You are skilled at idea and concept development. From sketches to prototypes. You have a keen eye for detail, but don't lose track of the big picture. You can deliver quick iterations to solve specific work tasks, but also think holistically and see how solutions are connected across products and product lines.

You are well versed in design for production and production processes and can actively participate in discussions with manufacturers to find the optimal balance between good products and efficient production.

You are curious about new technology and interested in how good technical solutions can help create better products. And you dare to question established truths and practices.

You know that behind every quality product lies a thorough design process that takes into account all stages from the end user all the way back to the manufacturing company. And that "who will buy the product", "who will use it", "what problem it will solve" and "how it will be produced" are just some of very many questions in a process that together determine the quality of the design.

Our design team is located at our offices in Horten and Torshov in Oslo. Today, the team consists of 12 employees divided into designers and engineers in mechanics and electronics. We work both with further development of existing products and new development of completely new solutions. We design every part of our products ourselves – electronics, software, user interfaces and mechanics – and can therefore shape the entire user experience from start to finish. We believe this makes it extra exciting – and quite unique – to work with us!

We have our own prototype and test lab and manufacture our products in Europe. For 3D construction, we use Creo.

As a project order handler at Zenitel, you will play a central role in supporting our project and operations teams. Your main task is to ensure efficient creation, processing and follow-up of project-related orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). You will be an important contributor to ensuring that our projects are carried out with high quality, among other things by ensuring that materials and services are ordered and followed up in line with schedules and requirements. The position involves communication between different departments and functions, and as an international company, it is important that you are fluent in both English and Norwegian.

Tasks:

• Creation, processing, and maintenance of project sales orders in D365.
• Close coordination with project managers, technical teams, procurement and logistics department to ensure that all project requirements are taken care of.
• Assist with handling urgent requests in line with priorities set by the project manager.

Your background and experience:

• Experience from project work, order management and/or logistics.
• Good system understanding and experience with ERP/CRM systems, preferably D365.

The project department is responsible for all planning, design and configuration, as well as testing and handover to the customer. After delivery, the project department often participates in commissioning on site and performs service as agreed. Our skilled engineers also work closely with the sales department to ensure high quality and optimal technical solutions already in the quotation phase.

We are looking for you who are passionate about working with design, engineering, and project management of system deliveries to our customers. If you have experience from a similar position, it is a plus, but not a requirement. Your tasks will include:

As a project engineer at Zenitel, you will work with system deliveries. Some projects you will have sole responsibility for, other times it will be in collaboration with colleagues in the department in Horten or other departments in Zenitel. You will be responsible for ensuring that all project deliveries are in accordance with the customer's requirements, regulations and standards. As a project engineer, your primary tasks will be the design and engineering of projects, drawing the systems in AutoCad (rack drawings and electrical diagrams) and system integration. In addition, you will work with:

• Participate in project meetings, coordinate with the project manager team, be a point of contact for customers in their own projects
• Sales support with design and verification of solutions (technical documentation and drawings)
• Attend FATs
• Technical support both on-site and remote

Desired qualifications:

• 3-year relevant education with technical understanding, preferably electronics engineer
• Interest in, and preferably knowledge of, telecom/communication systems
• Drawing in AutoCAD
• Network knowledge is desirable but not required. Training/courses will be provided.
• Be able to write and speak fluently in both Norwegian and English
